(Rowland Heights)- “Its kind of hard not to like it,” coach Snyder spoke of his quarterbacks performance, “he didn’t throw an incomplete pass tonight, I think he was six for six, had three touchdown passes and ran for one.”

Michael Ball, Rowland high school quarterback, completed a perfect five of five passes for 156-yards with 3 touchdowns to lead his team the win over Northview 49-22 on Friday.

A 63-yard screen pass for a touchdown to Leonardo Freeman began Ball’s perfect night. The touchdown came just one minute into the game.

Viking’s Randy Contreras recovered a Rowland fumble with 3:04 left in the first  and Vikings quarterback Martin Arredondo returned the favor with a fumble of his own which was recovered by Raider’s Bryan Luciano at the Northview nine yard-line. Moments later senior Josh Onovughe scored on an eight-yard run to put his team up 13-0 after a blocked point after.

Northview responded with a 12-play drive, which culminated with a 14-yard touchdown strike from Arredondo to Zack Ward and the lead was cut to six.

Ball continued his flawless play with three big passes on a four-play drive where he found Steven David from 15-yards out for his second touchdown pass of the night.

A blocked punt by Luciano put the Rowland offense back in scoring position. Ball found Freeman once again on a 13-yard slant for a touchdown with to end the half leading 27-7.

The Vikings started the third as bad as they ended the second with another Arredondo turnover, this time coming in the form of a pick six by Freeman. Another thrown interception, late in the third by Arredondo, made way for a 25-yard touchdown run by Ball.

The Vikings only bright spot, Kameron Germany, scored a touchdown with 8:47 left in the fourth and cut the lead to 41-14. Rowland’s Danny Garcia returned an 89-yard kick return for a touchdown on the ensuing kickoff for the Raiders last score of the night.
