Good Morning!
Biggest fraud in the NFL? The 3-0 record belonging to the Denver Broncos. Their three opponents the Bengals, Browns, and Raiders are the equivalent of Ganesha, Duarte, and Keppel.
I know the Bengals beat the Steelers this weekend, and Keppel’s fortunes may soon change. Aztecs HC Bobby Madrid will be on “The Mid Valley Sports Show” tonight…
Mid Valley karma ain’t what it used to be…La Salle’s Antoine Peterson can attest to that…
The weight bar falling on USC tailback Stafon Johnson is a horrible story, but something I’ve always thought about when in the weight room. I’m surprised we haven’t heard of it happening before.
You know Michael Irvin ended up in the Hall of Fame after delivering the same type of push off Carolina receiver Muhsin Muhammad was flagged for in the second half against the Cowboys last night.
And no, it has nothing to do with me hating the Cowboys…
…Okay, a just a little.
On this date in 1989 Rosemead quarterback Jesus Huerta completed 16 of 25 passes for 153-yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers 28-15 win over Temple City at North Field. Chang Weisberg caught 10 passes for 103-yards and two scores, John Vigil rushed for two more.
On the same night with three seconds left and Muir backed up at its own 13 against Bishop Amat, (at Amat) Mustang quarterback Demetrice Martin rolled right and went downfield to running back Sam Williford at the Muir 40. As three Lancer defenders converged on Williford they didn’t see Vince Milton running across the field to take the lateral from Williford and couldn’t stop him from going 60-yards for the game winner.
“He pitched it to me and I just ran for six baby,” said Milton. “I just ran for six!”
Last Note on Muir: The Mustangs are 0-3, but their three opponents are a combined 7-3… Diamond Ranch, 1-3, constantly plays one of the toughest schedules in the southland…The other two, Oaks Christian and Venice, are unbeaten.
Note to Ken Howard: Don’t overlook Burroughs….
From the Del Rio, Cal travels to Schurr this week. The Condors, who scored a nice win over Pacifica last week, need to pound the ball and take time off the clock. Just keep running Terris Jones behind senior offensive lineman Taylor Beyer.
Beyer is 6’4”-315, are they allowed to grow that big by law in the San Gabriel Valley?
Charter Oak needs to guard against a let down versus Damien this week after its tough loss to Rancho Cucamonga last Friday…
Lost in the glare of Adam Muema, the rotating quarterbacks, and A.J. Powell, is Charger defensive stud Keith Smith
Name of the Day: Walnut running back Milan King.
Stay thirsty my friends…
