Good Afternoon!

The “Tim & Marty Retirement Road Show” made its way to Moyse Field last night where former Temple City assistants Tim Loya and Marty Valdez took in the game.

The word has been Arcadia is thin at tailback, but I saw two last night in Everett Frazier and Rodney Arnett who looked pretty good…The Apaches do seem to need a pile driver though…

The spirit of Zola Budd lives!

Thank goodness Chicago didn’t get the Olympics, nothing is worse than the Olympics…Give me World Cup Soccer or an evening with an Amway salesman before subjecting me to another Olympiad.

Since I’m ranting…feel free to rant back at me here or on Facebook…but do me a favor, don’t “Poke” me…I can’t stand it when I get a Facebook “Poke”…besides you shouldn’t be poking anybody.

That’s nice, Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount is due for October 7th parole from his season long suspension for punching Boise State’s Byron Hout.

After seeing Glendale for some reason thought I was seeing the old Crescenta Valley offense…Mmm…I wonder why I would think that?

Nitros quarterback Moises Chavez is a player and he definitely has some weapons at receiver.

Crescenta Valley quarterback Kyle Cota has not gotten off to a fast start and the Falcons are going to need a little more than Harry Pessy if they are going to take down Burbank tonight.

Andy Villathedevil says his new favorite running back is Santa Fe’s William Bomer.

On this date in 1975 Bishop Amat quarterback Paul McDonald completed eight of 16 passes for 119-yards and ran for a score as the Lancers shutout Arcadia 14-0 at Bassett High School…

On this same date in 1987: Azusa’s Kris Karbowski kicked a 21-yard field goal with 13-seconds remaining to defeat Arroyo 15-13 at Citrus College.

(One more time) On this same date in 1987 Temple City running back Mike Garcia, starting in place of the injured Mike Money, carried the ball 16 times for 130-yards and scored two touchdowns in the Rams 27-22 victory over Rosemead at North Field.

I guess the kidding around for Santa Fe is pretty much over…

So is it time for us to run a “Who’s Better?” poll between Monrovia’s Nick Bueno and Rowland’s Michael Ball?…This would be a great poll because it can run for two years…both quarterbacks are juniors.

Arroyo at Walnut tonight is going to tell us a lot about both teams…A mistake against the Mustangs athletes will turn into quick points…Note to Knights: Protect the ball! Give it to Mike “Let’s Rock!” Vasquez and have him run behind Javier Lozano and Matt Phillip.

(I know, I know, ‘protect the ball!’… is sort of a “duh” statement)

What happens if Bassett beats Azusa tonight?

Keppel snaps its streak tonight at 40 against Mt. View.

Stay thirsty my friends…
