(West Covina)- The return of senior lineman and team leader Richard Tejeda sparked West Covina as it ran all over visiting Los Altos to the tune of 264-yards in a 47-12 win Friday night.

“We got back Richard Tejeda our team leader, our best line man. And that kind of gave us a little boost a little bit of confidence,” Bulldog coach Mike Maggiore said. “He just adds so much not just on the field, but with leadership, guys just rally around him.”

Running backs B.J. Lee, Ricky Johnson, and Chris Solomon combined for five touchdowns on the ground for West Covina.

Lee scored first on the Bulldog’s first possession from 36-yards out and after a missed extra point by Roger Paez they lead 6-0.

Johnson followed Lee’s example and scored three touchdowns of his own from 48-yards, 10-yards, and 40-yards which gave his team the lead 27-0.

After a few three and outs and a dismal air attack, which had Justin Zamano complete only 6 of 15 for 56-yards and an interception, the Conquerors put the ball on the ground with running back Alex Tibbs. Tibbs capped a 12-play drive with a one-yard touchdown run with 2:17 left in the second quarter. West Covina led 27-6 at halftime.

After an injury scare right before the half, Chris Solomon showed the crowd he was just fine with an 80-yard touchdown run just three minutes into the third. His team now led 35-6

Tibbs continued to plug away on the Conquerors ensuing possession and found the end zone on a four-yard run with 4:45 left in the third.

The Bulldogs would add to their lead with two late scores to finish their dominate performance.

Westco improved to 2-3, Los Altos fell to 1-3.
