1.) Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder addresses controversy over the team’s name, strongly expressing that the name will never be changed.

2.) Denver’s George Karl is named the NBA’s Coach of the Year for the first time in his 25-year career.

3.) Golden State’s Klay Thompson explodes for a 34-point performance as the Warriors steal win in San Antonio to tie the series at 1-1.

4.) Legendary ESPN anchor Chris Berman, who turns 58 today.

5.) On this day in 1987, Hank Aaron hit his first and only inside-the-park home run off of Philadelphia Phillies’ pitcher Jim Bunning.

6.) Pittsburgh Penguins’ goaltender Tomas Vokoun moves into Marc Andre Fleury’s starting spot and shuts out the New York Islanders to take a 3-2 lead in the first round of the NHL playoffs.

7.) On this day in 2002, the Anaheim Angels beat the Chicago White Sox 19-0, making them the third team in MLB history to win two games by 19 or more runs in one season.

8.) De La Salle’s football team places 18th in MaxPreps’ list of teams with the most wins since 2008 at 67. Their record since 2004 is 112-11-2.
