Karavedas Out, Oliva In!

Pete Karavedas has left Maranatha for Sunny Hills. Jude Oliva, who was slated to be the OC will take over as Head Coach.

Pete Karavedas has left Maranatha to take an assistant job at Sunny Hills High School and recently hired offensive coordinator Jude Oliva is now the Minutemens new head coach.

Oliva, who was the HC at San Gabriel the last three years before stepping down is grateful for the opportunity.

“I truly feel blessed for this opportunity to lead the Maranatha football program. Maranatha is a special place with great student athletes,” Oliva said. “They have great faculty and staff and great families. I feel blessed coming into a program that has a solid foundation in place and has great core values. I am thrilled and gratefiul for this door that has been opened for me.”

Karavedas spent two years guiding Maranatha after holding the DC position at Whittier Christian.

“I am thankful for the opportunity Maranatha gave me but this is a good move for me and my family. I’m looking forward to this new adventure,” Karavedas said.
