“I think some of the bigger schools got what they wanted. But the truth is schools need to finally create football only leagues,” said Baldwin Park HC Chris Williams. “BP football is good where its at in the VVL (Valle Vista League). Our schools request for relief was based off our girls sports.”

“It’s mostly the same, which isn’t bad,” said Los Altos HC Dale Ziola. “But CO (Charter Oak) dropping from D-2 Sierra League, in which they lost only one game over three years—by a field goal no less—is going to be tough.”

“I’ve actually never been in a league with them,” said West Covina HC Mike Maggiore about Charter Oak’s arrival in the Hacienda. “We played for years in a crossover game. It seems like a good league for all sports. Looking forward to the challenge. They have a great program. It’s not gonna change what we do, we just need to continue to work constantly with passion to be the best.”

“It will be great to play against Charter Oak again. I have a lot of respect for the coaching staff and it is always a great challenge for us,” said Diamond Ranch HC Roddy Layton. “I’m excited to have them back despite my record against CO.”
