It’s not only about the big games and the big name teams that are playing this week, but the teams that have had terrific seasons who are still alive in Week 10: Congrats to Artesia, Cal, Burroughs, and even Mayfair…The consensus, among those who “think they know”, was these teams were dead in the water. Not so.

.) Norwalk (9-0): Previous Week: 1: It might not look like it, but they still need to beat Mayfair.

.) La Serna (7-2): Prev. Wk: 3: Primed, this is the window. Time to step through and write a great closing chapter.

.) Diamond Ranch (8-1): Prev. Wk: 4: This team could reach the finals.

.) Muir (8-1): Prev. Wk: 6: They keep winning games they should lose, keep putting themselves in position to lose games they shouldn’t.

.) Dominguez (7-2): Prev. Wk: 8: Gets its crack at Downey this week.

.) Paramount (6-3): Prev. Wk: 12: Which Pirate team will show up in Week 11?

.) Bonita (6-3): Prev. Wk: 10: What are the odds of having a Payton Jake and a Jake Payton in the backfield?

.) Downey (5-4): Prev. Wk: 2: Time to get it together, right now.

.) Los Altos (7-2): Prev. Wk: 5: How they respond on Thursday will determine how this season finishes.

.) West Covina (5-4): Prev. Wk: 9: Have put themselves in a great position.

.) Crescenta Valley (7-2): Prev. Wk: 7: They could of had it allllll!

.) Burbank (7-2): Prev. Wk: 11: And the end of the screen play says: Burbank plays Burroughs.

.) Mayfair (5-4): Prev. Wk: 13: Young team could do some serious Van Damage if they knock off the Lancers.

.) El Rancho (6-3): Prev. Wk: 17: Not everyone gets a shot…but the Dons right now have got a shot on Thursday. Maybe…just maybe…La Serna is looking past them?

.) Burroughs (6-3): Prev. Wk: 18: Joe T. said at Bible Study, in Beautiful downtown Burbank, that the Indians are going to win.

.) Artesia (6-3): Prev. Wk: 20: Would beating La Mirada be too much to ask from an already terrific season?

.) La Mirada (3-6): Prev. Wk: 15: Need to beat Artesia to have any hope surviving this nightmare season.

.) Santa Fe (5-4): Prev. Wk: 14: Maybe the last two weeks have proven that Christian Lara is an MVP candidate.

.) Diamond Bar (5-4): Prev. Wk: 16: They are going to need some help to make it to the playoffs.

.) California (4-5): Pre. Wk: N/R: Everybody has doubted, no one believed they would be here, undermanned, outsized, not enough experience…and they are still playing Santa Fe in Week 10 for the right to go to the playoffs. Wow. Some apologies to HC Jim Arnold are in order.
