2.) Former Mayfair quarterback Evan Hunko turns 21 today.

4.) The Division VII semifinals were played on this date in 2004: At Covina District Field  Kevin Mort threw four touchdown passes and South Hils defeated Arroyo 41-18. Across town, on the same night, at West Covina the Bulldogs rallied from a 27-17 deficit to defeat Walnut 31-27. WC’s Xavier Tucker’s 45-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter highlighted the comeback.

Last Note WestCo: During the regular season the Bulldogs lost to both Walnut (13-10) and South Hills (17-10) only to avenge both to win their first CIF title under Mike Maggiore.

8.) On December 8th 2007 Santa Clara defeated Bishop Diego 20-14 in overtime to win the Mid-Valley division championship. Note: It was the last Mid-Valley title game that failed to feature either: Monrovia, Paraclete, or San Dimas.
