(El Monte)- It went bad for Gabrielno the moment it stepped off the bus.

Arroyo scored twice in the first two minutes, Steven Rivera threw five first half touchdown passes, and the Knights never looked back in a 41-0 rout over the Eagles on Friday night.

Steven Rivera dropped the first bomb from 59-yards to Anthony Miller a minute into the contest. On the following kick-off the Eagles’ Matt Matters lost the ball at his three. Arroyo’s Mike Vasquez cashed the check on the next play and it was 13-0 Knights.

Vasquez scored again on a 13-yard run halfway through the second quarter after Rivera set things up with a 33-yard completion to Chris Rodriguez.

Rivera picked up his third touchdown pass of the night going 69-yards over the top to Nick Gonzalez.

Rivera’s fourth touchdown pass came on a four-yard toss to Sam Torres and it was 34-0.

Rivera struck for his fifth by going ten yards to Miller with three seconds left in the half.

The Arroyo called off the dogs in the second half and cruised to its second consecutive Mission Valley League win.
