1.) Former Temple City linebacker Josh Willard turns 24 today

2.) La Canada’s 600 win basketball HC Tom Hoffman has led the Spartans program for 28 years, but since 2004-2005 alone (according to MaxPreps) the five other schools in the Rio Hondo League have made 14 head coaching changes.

3.) The film “Draft Day” opens on April 13th.

4.) On this date in 1973, in Super Bowl VII, Washington Redskins cornerback Mike Bass intercepted Miami Dolphins kicker Garo Yepremian’s pass attempt after a blocked field goal and returned it for a touchdown. The Dolphins won, 14-7, and completed their undefeated perfect season.

6.) Three years ago today Joel Murphy stepped down as Marantha football HC.

7.) Of the 15 teams in the NBA’s Easter Conference only four have winning records (Toronto, Indiana, Atlanta, & Miami) as the schedule approaches mid-season.

8.) Tennessee Titans hire Ken Whisenhunt as head coach. Whisenhunt previously led the Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl in 2008.

9.) Covina Colts running back Pearnell Smalley has rushed for 1,477 yards and accounted for 26 touchdowns the last two seasons. He returns for his senior season this fall.
