Maranatha Mauls San Marino

(Pasadena) – Maranatha capitalized on nine turnovers that led to a 22-9 first quarter lead and cruised to a 64-31 romp over San Marino Wednesday night in the first round of the CIF Division 4AA playoffs.

Muusa Dama led all scorers and rebounders with 21 points and 16 boards. Dama, who amassed a 15 point 10 rebound double double by halftime, finished a solid nine of 12 from the field for the Minutemen.

Nick Springer sprayed a three in each of the first three quarters before finishing with 11 points. Tey Williams (2 stl, 2 ast) had 10, Skye Isles (5 stl, 3 ast) added nine, while Zach Smalley (4 ast, 4 reb) and Austin Barbato (5 reb, 2 stl, 1 ast) both scored five.

San Marino was led in scoring with five points each from Brian Low (5 reb, 2 ast, 2 stl), Jamal Etayeb (3 reb, 1 blk), and Justin Lin.
