Mid Valley JUCO Wire… Week 8

Mt. Sac   63            Desert 0         (Oct 24, 2009 at Walnut, CA)

 Another blow-out victory for Mt. Sac as Bryce McBride (Bishop Amat) had six carries for 22-yards and two receptions for 65-yards and a touchdown.  Jesse Canada (Monrovia) had only two catches for 13-yards but one of those catches was for a score.  Ahmere Owens (Muir) had two catches for eight yards and three kick returns for 39-yards.

 On defense, Deshawn Gaisie (Bishop Amat) had three tackles to go with three kick returns for 21-yards.  Austin Daniels (Muir) had three tackles as well.

 Citrus 20         Chaffey 17     (Oct 24, 2009 at Rancho Cucamonga, CA)

 Citrus ended its four game losing skid with a win on the road against Chaffey.  Brandon Stansell (Rowland) return to gain 52-yards on 12 carries, had one reception for seven yards and a kick return of seven yards.  Rauley Zaragosa (Azusa) had one carry for 25-yards and two punts for 59.

 On Defense, Xavier Tucker (West Covina) had two tackles and an interception and Jesse Prieto (Bishop Amat) and Nico Barbone (San Dimas) each had one tackle.

 Fullerton 22                Saddleback 13              (Oct. 24, 2009 at Saddleback College)         

 Fullerton won their third straight Saturday with the local talent making its usual impact on the game.  Raul Pintado (Schurr) had four tackles and an interception that he returned 54-yards, Alex Valdez (Schurr) had three tackles and an interception he returned 20-yards.  Juan Perez (South El Monte) had four tackles and a sack.  Joe Morales (South El Monte), A.J. Pasalo (Charter Oak), David Slover (South Hills) and Derrick Price (Bonita) each had two tackles and Filipo Tuala (South El Monte) had one.

 Glendale 3                  Bakersfield 49     (Oct 24, 2009 at Glendale, CA)     

 Another long night for Glendale saw Willie Youngblood gaining 88-yards on 15 carries.  Reinaldo Reyes (Blair) had two receptions for 77-yards and four kick returns for 72-yards.

ELAC 27                  Antelope Valley 41               (Oct. 17, 2009 at Van Nuys, CA)

ELAC came up short Saturday even with Pedro Velasquez (El Monte) hitting on 21 of 44 passes for 374-yards and a touchdown.  The only other local with numbers was Marquis Williams (Monrovia) who had four yards on three carries.
