Oh yeah, I've been a Yankees fan since "The Horace Clarke Era".

Oh yeah, I've been a Yankees fan since "The Horace Clarke Era".

Good Evening!

I’m not offended by Mark Sanchez eating a hot dog on the sideline yesterday as the Jets blasted the Raiders (music to my ears)…as long as it was a Hebrew National.

Five interceptions, now that offends me.

The Clippers open their season tomorrow night against the Lakers and Baron Davis is already questionable with a bad foot…

If you asked me a week ago who I would take between Alhambra and San Gabriel, I would have said the Moors. Ask me now and I don’t know. Who would want me to make a pick, I’m the guy that took Temple City by 11 over Monrovia last Friday….Something M-Town assistant Mike Minter is careful to point out.

At least I didn’t go totally Villathedevil and pick the Tennessee Titans to go to the Super Bowl this year. (LOL)

Maybe we should spend some time talking about the Cal High offensive line…

Did you know local super sophs Andrew Gibson (Temple City), Rodney Arnett (Arcadia), and De’Shawn Ramirez (Monrovia) all played Junior All American football together?

Before the Monrovia faithful books a ticket to the finals or semifinals, and a possible trip to the frozen tundra of Paraclete, the Wildcats need to work out their kicking game.

A struggling kicking game can tear you a new one come post-season.

I’ve been informed Arroyo’s Steven Rivera only threw four touchdown passes on Friday night, not five. That’s terrible, he needs to give the coaching staff a couple of laps for such an average performance.

We’ve mentioned him (not enough), but Burroughs linebacker Charlie Hosea is as merciless as a highwayman on the football field. No prisoners, no mercy, and he never fails to impress. Let us know if you, or anyone else, thinks different.

On this date in 1990 Alhambra’s Russell Stanley rushed for 166-yards and two touchdowns in the Moors 41-18 victory over San Gabriel.

The last time Philadelphia played New York in a World Series was in 1950 and the “Whiz Kids” were swept in four.

On that Phillies team was Eddie Waitkus, a promising young player who earlier had been shot by an obsessed fan. The account became the beginnings of the novel “The Natural”….and subsequent movie.

…And in spite of what an old english teacher told me about “The Natural” being a fantastic piece of American literature…I’m here to tell you, in no uncertain terms, it SUCKED!

This is why I like the Yanks in the series.

Burbank has one loss this season…17-14 in week two to Chaminade…did you know that  in its six wins the fewest amount of points the Bulldogs have scored is 29? Quarterback Adam Colman has thrown 16 touchdown passes against just two interceptions. On defense Jackson Diamond has four interceptions, two fumble recoveries, a sack, and 21-tackles.

But as we count down to the biggest Burbank-Burroughs clash in a long, long time, its been whispered I need to re-examine the Bulldogs schedule.

If you eliminate Chaminade (5-2), the combined record of the opponents B-Bank has beaten is 11-24. This includes nine wins by still suspect SG and CV squads.

Oh, and I have always been a Yankees fan!

Stay thirsty my friends…
