(Glendora) – Junior Morgan and Hayden Lescault combined for 45 points to lead Point Loma to an 86-70 win over Azusa Pacific Tuesday night in the season finale for both teams.

The Cougars shot only 31 percent in the first half while Point Loma lit it up at a 50 percent clip and faster then you could say Phineas Bresee the Nazarenes jumped out to a 37-24 halftime advantage. APU got as close as five in the second half but the Sea Lions again gained control late in the game and cruised to the victory.

***Sam Okhotin was also in double figures for Point Loma with 12, all in the first half and all from the three point line.

***The Sea Lions were 9 for 21 from three point land overall while APU was 5 for 23.

***Troy Leaf, the Cougars’ leading scorer, finished with 15 points but was 1 for 6 from beyond the arc and 5 for 15 overall.

***Robert Sandoval led Azusa Pacific with 17 points and Jared Zoller tossed in 13. Sharif Watson scored 10.

***Point Loma finished the game shooting 51 percent from the field while APU shot 44 percent.

***Point Loma’s biggest lead of the game was 19 with 2:21 left in the first half. APU trailed the entire contest and the game was never tied.

***The Sea Lions outrebounded the Cougars 34-28.

***Point Loma raced out to a 13-3 lead and 25-12 in the first half and were never really threatened.

***APU finished the season 17-10 overall and 13-8 in conference. Point Loma went 17-11 and 11-10.

***There were 1139 fans in attendance at the Felix Events Center.
