1. Jacksonville trades quarterback Blaine Gabbert to the 49ers for a sixth round pick and a possible conditional pick in 2015.

2. The Dallas Cowboys cut their all-time leader in sacks, DeMarcus Ware.

3. The Colts retain cornerback Vontae Davis for four years, $39 million.

4. The Clippers have won eight straight and are tied for third in the Western Conference.

5. Kansas center Joel Embiid, projected by some as a top three pick in the NBA draft, is expected to miss the first weekend of the NCAA tournament with a lower back problem.

6. The Cleveland Browns sign LB Karlos Dansby (Cardinals) and S Donte Whitner (49ers.)

7. Wichita State is 34-0.

8. Aqib Talib signs six-year, $57 million deal with the Denver Broncos.

9. Sophomore Angel Lopez Jr. has four hits in his first eight at bats for Rosemead.
