(Diamond Bar) – Marcus Hughes, from Cornwall High School in New York, has been named the head coach at Diamond Bar.

Hughes takes over for Ryan Maine who stepped down earlier this year. Hughes, in seven years at Cornwall, went 67-12 overall and won six Section 9 Class A titles. Hughes, 33 is the winningest coach during that span in Section 9. Prior to the stint at Cornwall, Hughes was an assistant for four different schools in Colorado from 2000-2006.

Diamond Bar went 7-5 last year and advanced to the second round of the CIF playoffs before falling to eventual Southeast Champion La Serna.
