Mid Valley Sports learned this afternoon that former Rosemead football player, and wrestler, Edward McMillon, 28, passed away yesterday. The specific cause was not shared, but a complication related to leukemia has been cited.

McMillon came onto the scene as a sophomore linebacker on Rosemead’s 2001 semifinal team. Including a huge came against Arroyo that the Panthers won at home 42-7.

In both the 2002 and 2003 seasons, under Rosemead HC Larry Hatley, McMillon became the key figure of the Panthers defense. At Mid Valley Sports he was also known for the monster hit he put on Monrovia’s Jeremele Barnes during a punt return in 2003.

“He always had the hugest smile and biggest laugh,” said current Rosemead HC Marc Paramo. “He is going to be missed.”

A top wrestler for the Panthers, he kept in touch with wrestling program and stopped by often to see them.
