Monrovia’s Octavius Spencer: If you don’t know who he is yet, you will soon.
(Monrovia) – Monrovia was joined by Covina and Bell Gardens Tuesday to sling the ball around. I thought they only had call centers in Brea but they have a football team too and they showed up as well. Brea actually didn’t look bad but I got a Benjamin that says they got caught in traffic on the 57 on the way home.

Who looked best? The Monrovia Wildcats. Don’t they always? They have plenty of guys that can jump out of the gym and defensively they are fast and can rally to the ball. If you haven’t seen Octavius Spencer yet make it a point too. Dude can ball. Asaph Zamora kind of brings it all together – usually on target and throws a good ball.

Joe Benavides looks like the guy at QB for Covina. He didn’t have any problem getting the ball there and is getting better with his reads. “That will come with experience,” said an assistant. The Colts have some skill guys.
Bell Gardens? I just don’t know. The Lancers struggled a little bit offensively and are breaking in a new quarterback. BG always looks a lot better in helmet and pads.

Brea? Good luck on the 57. Sometimes if you take the Canyon instead of getting off on Lambert it will save you some time.
