1. El Monte has added former standouts Luke Ayala (RB/DB), Michael Bustillos (OL) and Memo Silva (WR) to the coaching staff this year.

3. Dwyane Wade re-signs with Miami agreeing to a two-year deal with an option or a third for approximately $34 million.

4. Jimmy Graham signs a four-year, $40 million contract with the New Orleans Saints.

5. Derek Jeter went two for two and Mike Trout had two hits and drove in two runs to earn MVP honors as the American League beat the National League 5-3 in the All-Star game.

6. Louis “Red” Klotz the owner of the Washington Generals and other teams that lost thousands of games to the Harlem Globetrotters, passed away at the age of 93.
