The Ten

(“The Ten” is not a top ten, but ten items worth being included in The TEN)

1. St Louis Rams signed Sam Bradford for six year $78 million in July of 2010, his record as a starter is 18-30.

2.  Richie Icognito cleared to returned to NFL after being suspended last year for bullying.

3. Desert Hot Springs HS head coach Will Littel begins his first season at the school. Did not coach last season to complete credential.

4. Angels drop three out of four and are tied with Oakland in first place in the AL West.

5. Georgia State begins its first season eligible to participate in the NCAA FBS tomorrow night against Abilene Christian. They will compete in the Sun Belt Conference.

6. Flintridge Prep went 2-8 last season with wins coming against schools that were a combined 6-15.

7. Yucca Valley began the last season, 7-0 before dropping league games to Big Bear, Desert Hot Springs, and Twentynine Palms. The loss to Twentynine Palms prevented them from post season play.

8. Former Los Angeles Times turf writer Bob Mieszerki celebrates a birthday today.

9. 120 years ago today, Chicago Colts catcher Pop Shriver catches a ball dropped from Washington Monument (550 feet from observation deck). Many players had tried prior since the monuments opening in 1885.
