Eric Williams and the Colts bust their way into the Top Ten.

Eric Williams and the Colts bust their way into the Top Ten.

The top six fared well and retained their positions in the poll. The changes come in the bottom four where one team once thought to be a possible contender in the Mid Valley has had a couple of dismal performances and gets bumped. Two new names have made it into the mix via solid performances on Friday night.

1.  Sierra Canyon (2-0) The Trailblazer defense has only given up 20 points in two games while the offense is averaging 38.5

2.  San Dimas (1-1) The Saints needed a win against Los Altos to hold on to second place in the poll. 22-21 was just enough.

3.  Paraclete (1-1) Even with their youth, playing at home in the Antelope Valley is always an advantage. Ask Dorsey!

4.  Pomona (2-0) The Red Devils are turning heads on the offensive side of the ball averaging close to 50 a game.

5.  Viewpoint (2-0) Six foot 205 pound bruiser Dominick Brown is a name to remember for Viewpoint.

6.  Northview (2-0) Not much room to move up the poll even after the 38-6 beating the Vikings put on Montebello.

7.  Arroyo (1-1) Got the expected win against Temple City but not in the fashion everyone predicted. A Knight defense giving up an average of 44 a game is playing with fire.

8.  Covina (1-1) Played well and were in the game against South Hills and a resounding win over La Puente helped the Colts break into the top ten.

9. Baldwin Park (1-1) The Braves held on to their spot in the poll but just barely. Friday night will be a good test against #6 Northview.

10. Schurr (1-1) A solid showing against a Central Division team and a 35-6 whipping of El Monte has the Spartans leaping over Montebello into the tenth spot.

In the mix: Ganesha (2-0), La Puente (1-1), Gabrielino (1-0), Wilson (1-0)
