Mt. Sac   41            Chaffey 33        (Nov 14, 2009 at Rancho Cucamonga, CA)

 Mt. Sac finished the 2009 regular season on a winning note.  Jesse Canada (Monrovia) had nine catches for 155-yards and two touchdowns. Bryce McBride (Bishop Amat) had four carries for 36-yards on the ground and two catches for 33-yards. Deshawn Gaisie (Bishop Amat) had three returns for 32-yards.

 On defense, Austin Daniels (Muir) led the way with 10 tackles and Arness Ikner (Pasadena) had five.

 Mt. Sac now moves on to the playoffs to meet L.A. Pierce in the SoCal Bowl.

  Citrus 26       Riverside 16     (Nov. 14, 2009 at Glendora, CA)

 In the season finale for Citrus, Isaac Tucker (West Covina) gained 96-yards on 16 carries, had one reception for 33-yards and a touchdown, a kick return of 16-yards and even two tackles on defense. Brandon Stansell (Rowland) finished his first year getting 58-yards on the ground and 79-yards on returns.  Rauley Zaragoza had three punts for 124-yards.

 Defensively, Xavier Tucker (West Covina) had seven tackles, Nico Barbone (San Dimas) had four and Jesse Prieto (Bishop Amat) had one.

 Fullerton 41                Santa Ana 7              (Nov. 14, 2009 at Santa Ana, CA)        

 Fullerton also finished their regular season in fine fashion. In the win, Joe Morales (South El Monte) recorded three tackles and one interception that he returned 35-yards to the house. Alex Valdez (Schurr) had three tackles, Filipo Tuala (South El Monte) had two and Juan Perez (South El Monte), A.J. Pasalo (Charter Oak), Raul Pintado (Schurr) each had one tackle.  Derrick Price (Bonita) added and interception of his own.

 Fullerton will now face L.A. Harbor in the first round of playoffs at the American Bowl.

 Pasadena 38               Glendale 22      (Nov. 14, 2009 at Glendale, CA)

ELAC 52                Santa Barbara 46                (Nov. 14, 2009 at Santa Barbara, CA)

East Los Angeles finished their season with an overtime win over Santa Barbara.  Pedro Velasquez (El Monte) made his bid for Mid Valley “Player of the Year” with an incredible performance.  The sophomore Velasquez completed 35 of 57 passes for 587-yards and five touchdowns. For good measure Velasquez also had 25-yards on two carries.  One of Velasquez’s touchdowns went to Rufus Williams (Monrovia) for 33-yards.  Williams also had 10 carries for 21-yards and a touchdown.

Velasquez finished the season completing 228 of 378 passes (60.3%) for 3,297-yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. These numbers made Velasquez the number two rated passer for all Southern California junior colleges.

On defense, Norm Ceja (Arroyo) had three tackles
