Northview made the rest of the Mid Valley Division take notice by virtue of their huge win over San Dimas who have now lost two in a row. Covina and Pomona both advance up the poll with big wins while Arroyo (who is heading the wrong direction fast) and La Puente both slide to the bottom.

1.  Sierra Canyon (6-0) Only Viewpoint and Paraclete will have a chance of keeping the Trailblazers from a perfect 2014 regular season.

2.  Viewpoint (6-0) Will be undefeated until a Halloween encounter with Sierra Canyon as long as they don’t look past Brentwood.

3.  Northview (5-1) 44-26 win over San Dimas without a doubt the biggest win in HC Marcel Perez’s coaching career.

4.  Paraclete (4-3) The Spirits know they won’t be facing any PAC 5 schools with a 54.8 Calpreps power ranking anytime soon in the Mid Valley Division.

5.  Covina (4-2) The Colts continue to play well against inferior opponents and get Rowland before having to face San Dimas and Northview on back to back Fridays.

6.  San Dimas (3-3) The Saints have lost two straight but only have Covina to worry about the rest of the regular season.

7.  Rosemead (2-4) Passed the test against two of their biggest MVL rivals. Up next is Gabrielino and there is no love lost between these two squads.

8.  Pomona (3-4) The Red Devils absolutely hammered La Puente and are heading up he charts and should find little resistance with the rest of the Miramonte League.

9.  Arroyo (4-3) After two straight league lossed the Knights will need to scramble and win out or face missing the playoffs for the first time in 30 plus years.

10. La Puente (4-3) The Warriors will brush off the loss to Pomona real fast and will be okay the rest of the way in the Miramonte.

In the mix:  Brentwood (5-1), Garey (4-3), El Monte (3-4), Baldwin Park (3-3),  Azusa (3-3)
