“Love takes a taxi, a young man drives.
As soon as he sees her, hope fills his eyes.
But tears follow after, at the end of the ride,
Cause he might never see her again.”

Kick it!

Right off the top: I’m so sick of the San Francisco Giants…They’re like a pebble in the shoe.

Do not close the door on Lynwood…Not yet.

From everything I got Arroyo self-reported its infraction and took its penalty (three forfeits over its non-league victories: Temple City, Montebello, & Rowland).

I understand, and the system is what the system is, but once again an entire team (school) is punished for a player who played bearing in any of the team’s wins. I’ve been back doing prep football for about 17 seasons now, I’ve seen tons of forfeits, but 90% (perhaps even more) were usually based on a clerical error or something minor. Almost never has starter or star been involved.

Has it ever been discussed to review the involvement of an ineligible player at a rules committee meeting? To me it seems like a traffic violation being remedied with the dropping of guillotine.

Note to St. Paul Coaching Staff: Not asking for gear or anything but (I will have it noted I picked you guys over La Salle on the October 7th Mid Valley Sports Show) when you guys were hacked at Peterson for picking against you and texted him…I came out in support and said I believed you were going to win…So how about a little love here.

Note to Northview Marcel Perez: This off season avoid all passing tournaments and keep Steven Comstock surrounded by security personnel. Let him go to the beach, the pool, the mall with his friends, but watch out for gurus, guests, and guys “just wanting to say ‘Hi’”.

The bad news for Temple City is they have not beaten Monrovia since the epic 2006 game…The good news is they won that game at Monrovia. The Rams go to M-Town this week.

Next Good News: With the Arroyo forfeiture, TC is now 3-3.

Last Add Bad News: Well, the real bad news for Temple City is the Wildcats are really good.

El Rancho HC Vinnie Lopez would probably disagree…but following a big win over La Serna is this week’s contest against Whittier a potential trap game?

Question: Will Malik Abston, late of Baldwin Park, hit the field for Chino this week against West Covina?

I don’t know if his team has enough to get by Maranatha, but Heritage Christian HC Scott Hurst has done a great job so far this season as the Warriors are 5-2.

We’ve repeatedly (painfully, I agree) shared that we cover four divisions, 22 leagues, 131 high schools…but do you know how many running backs, as of today, have cleared a 1,000 yards? Do you know who it is?

Speaking of which, looking at MaxPreps today, did you know La Puente quarterback Erick Morales has thrown 20 touchdown passes?

It’s not my final answer…but right now I do like Cathedral over St. Francis…but I can be persuaded (bought/purchased) to change my mind.

Regards:

In regards to the Dodgers “reassigning” Ned Colletti: Johnny “Blue State” Scanlan was so happy he was delivering Christmas gifts.

In regards to Fantasy Football: I have lived too long.

In regards to the NFL returning to L.A.: The Raiders? Who wants that baggage? Things have changed with Al Davis gone, but I say if they come make them leave their colors and history in Oakland (Ala Cleveland Browns—Baltimore Ravens)…The Rams? Why not? St. Louis will always be a baseball town and in twenty midwest seasons the Rams have only had about five good years…The Chargers? Boring. The Chargers have a San Diego fan base that really supports them. Plus, after growing up and seeing football games at the L.A. Coliseum, every stadium I’ve been in since is a great stadium. I think the Chargers have a great stadium from my perspective, they should stay in San Diego.

In regards to Griffin Bowl: I’ll take the overs at about 120 combined points being scored.

In regards to the NBA: If they want to improve the game create new penalties for players who are called for six or more fouls in a game…but eliminate fouling out. As boring as the NBA is, it is even worse when a star player is off the floor. The NCAA (If indeed there still is an NCAA) should do the same.

The Dude abides…
