1.  A wild throw by Cardinal reliever Randy Choate in the bottom of the 10th leads to a run and a 5-4 victory for the Giants in  game three of the NLCS.

2.  Sierra Canyon’s Kohl Hollinquest replaces an injured Niko Harries and throws for 238-yards and three touchdowns in the Trailblazer win over Nordhoff.

3.  George Brett was forced out of the World Series with a case of hemorrhoids on this day in 1980.

4.  Kansas City beats Baltimore 2-1 and takes at 3-0 lead in the ALCS.

5.  Baltimore Oriole legend and pitcher Jim Palmer turns 69 today.

6.  Cincinnati Bengal linebacker Vontaze Burfict was fined $25,000 for intentionally twisting the ankles of the Carolina Panther’s Cam Newton and Greg Olsen in Sunday’s game. Burfict was also warned that he is a repeat offender and subject to escalating discipline.

7.  St. Francis at Cathedral Friday night at 7:00 pm.

8.  On this day in 1989 Wayne Gretzky passes Gordie Howe as the NHL’s all time leading scorer.

9.  The Los Angeles City Council gave the AEG group a six month extension to lure and NFL team to Los Angeles. The extension gives the AEG group until October 2015 to get a deal done.
