Saint Bad Dudes Allen Brown (#78) and Justin Winrow (#94).

Good Evening!

You ever get sick of that Salvation Army dude ringing the bell when you are walking into the store? I’d give him five bucks for the bucket and another five for himself if he would just quit when he saw me coming in or out the door. I don’t want to hear another ting, ling, ding, or ring out of this cat…

What’s your preference? The one dominate team everyone wants to take down or a wide open horse race?

Off the top I do, I think we all like the horse race…but when I look at myself and think back to how much I hated, and still hate the Dallas Cowboys, I think prefer knocking off Goliath. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it is ever so sweet.

Then again I didn’t grow up in Covina or West Covina so I never felt that kind of anger one might feel towards a Charter Oak…or how some are beginning to feel towards Paraclete..

I’m hurting…Allen Iverson is retiring…

Strange what pops into your mind when you start your day, but the thing that hit me in the middle of exhausting all of the hot water before my daughters got a chance to take a shower was Dusty Baker.

Do people have any appreciation the eight years he patrolled the outfield for the Dodgers?

This just in Rosemead’s Matt Koffler is on a short list of those expected to replace New Jersey Nets (currently 0-14) head coach Lawrence Frank when he is canned in a few hours…

I’ve made clear my differences with the President, but I think would encourage re-election, or re-election for anyone, who finally executed one of those stupid birds they always pardon the day before Thanksgiving…

What a show last night…The Cal High staff was excellent… Great guys, they gave great background about their team and the journey they’ve been on…But I’m still taking Burbank…

Villathedevil was Right! Not an easy thing to say, but I was very wrong when I said the Bulldogs would be at home against the Condors…The game will be at Whittier District Field…

I’m encouraged it’s only supposed to be 44 degrees in Palmdale on Friday night…

Let the debate begin…who is going to be the next thousand yard back at Temple City in 2010?

To my friends in Burbank can you do something about those creepy Greenpeace people loitering outside of your supermarkets?

On this date in 2005 South El Monte went to Westminster and took a 38-28 victory from the Lions to advance to the semifinals for the first (and only) time in school history. Joe Morales and Tommy Cogburn each scored a pair of touchdowns to aid the Southman cause.

At Bergstrom, on the same night, South Hills was getting an epic 19 of 22 for 259-yard performance from quarterback Kevin Mort and three touchdowns out of Marquies Winbush in the Huskies 35-14 victory over Arroyo. The contest was a rematch of the previous season’s semifinal, which South Hills also won.

On this date in 1988 San Marino’s defense delivered its sixth shutout of the year in a 7-0 victory over Verbum Dei. The Titans Jerry Dietrick carried the ball 13 times for 133-yards, but it was the defense that Dietrick’s 12-yard touchdown run in the first quarter stand up. With Dei deep in SM territory with seconds to play they forced a fumble to preserve the win, advanced to the next round, and eventually to a CIF championship.

And in the “How Times Have Changed” Dept.: On this night in 1966 10,000 people crowded into the Rose Bowl to see Blair beat St. Francis 13-0. The Vikings first score was set up when safety Ed Kaleef intercepted a halfback option pass thrown by St. Franks Jim Zant. Blair quarterback Don Autry scored the first of his two touchdowns on a 1-yard less than four minutes into the contest. Kaleef picked off a second pass in the fourth quarter and Autry, who rushed for 107-yards on 20-carries, capitalized on it with a 3-yard run.

Lastly, most are not inclined to think of San Dimas as a physical team…Expect them to beat Valley Christian not just with speed and finesse, but some brute strength…

Stay thirsty my friends…
