I'm proud to say I have no bias whatsoever!

Good Evening!

“Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.”

“What happened to the doll?”

“It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born… A Festivus for the rest of us!”

Chris Kaman’s numbers have returned to standard apathy, but the Clippers are now 6-9, in third place, having fun…and ready to …..NAAAAAAAH!

This just in: Matt Koffler has been offered the head coaching job at Los Altos…

Speaking of retired prep quarterbacks…John Tuttle has been at San Marino now for an awful long time (two years)…shouldn’t his perpetual case of wanderlust be setting in again? Have clipboard will travel…

Tough not to be pro-Burbank with them at home against Cal…Do you know the Bulldogs two losses have come by a combined seven points?

While I have been touting Ulises Ochoa, you cannot forget the bashing of Leo Rodas and the play of Adam Colman. The B-Bank quarterback has thrown 23 touchdown passes to six different receivers.

We’ve talked a lot about San Marino’s Stevie Yortsos, well Burbank’s Sam Bethany is the same type of player.

Note to Terris Jones: Bring in some leftovers for the offensive line and Taylor Beyer this week…They are going to be the difference in Cal winning or losing at B-Bank.

Speaking of points, only two points (Buroughs, 14-12) separates Crescenta Valley from taking a seven game winning streak into its contest with South Hills the day after Thanksgiving…

Note to Kyle Cota: The Falcons need zero turnovers and 100-yards rushing out of their starting quarterback to upset the Huskies.

By the way CV sharing Moyse Stadium with Glendale and Hoover is one too many at the same site…Just like Covina, Northview, and South Hills at Covina District Field… I think they should rotate each year, and the school with the worst record is forced to play day games on its campus…

Fair or unfair, deserving or undeserving (“Deserve has got nothing to do with it…”), since Paraclete opened its doors in 1963 the Spirits have won seven CIF titles. In the hundred or so years Monrovia has been playing football they’ve lost all eight times they’ve reached the finals.

Note to the Docs: Since I’m making the drive to the desert this week can you indulge me a bit and clear both Monrovia’s Josh Lowden and De Shawn Ramirez to play…It’s a heck of ride to Paraclete…And I want to see all the stars…

Note to loyal Fanview reader & M-Town Assistant Mike Minter: Do a bro a solid, hook me up with the pre-game meal…

Being the homer that I am, what happens if the Mid-Valley Division title game is an all Olympic League deal?

(Whittier Christian…Bah! Humbug!)

On the subject of “All Glory is Fleeting” did you know, or have you read, that Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is projecting only as a fourth round pick in next year’s NFL Draft…

I don’t think he going to be the next Eric Crouch (who?)…no one has had a more celebrated career than Tebow…short of Tim Peterson’s freshman wrestling days at Arroyo…Can Tebow make the transition to H-Back as the experts have projected him?

On this date in 2006 La Salle’s Nathan Bury scored on a 3-yard with 37-seconds remaining to give the Lancers a shocking 35-28 victory over Monrovia. M-Town’s James Davis scored on runs of 45, 47, and 54-yards and finished with 195-yards rushing to lead his team.

On the same night Schurr’s Stephen Cano rushed for 122-yards and two touchdowns, and Alex Valdez took a Joe Orduno pass 94-yards for another score in the Spartans 38-8 win over Westminster.

At Cal High Nick Grigsby ran for 126-yards but the Condors fell to La Habra 35-12.

Same date in 1989, its tough to picture right now, but Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) beat  San Marino in the CIF Quarterfinals 17-7…Al Montoya, bad ankle and all, supplied the Titans only score with a 36-yard run to start the second half.

And way back in 1972…Rosemead, after dropping dime on Monrovia about illegal participation during the off season, entered the playoffs and was slammed by Santa Maria 21-7. The battle between M-Town and Mead ended up reaching the United States Supreme Court that afternoon when the court ruled in Mead’s favor.

(Don’t believe me? You can look it up)

My heart just bleeds for poor Adam Lambert…

San Dimas has faced Apple Valley and Victor Valley before, but never Valley Christian. So for what its worth; the Saints are 3-2 in second round games since beating Northview, 26-19, in week two of CIF in 1976.

Speaking of the second round San Marino is 11-5 all time in the second round of the playoffs…

Stay thirsty my friends…
