1.  The APU Cougars have moved up to #22 in the NCAA Division II coaches poll but have  moved down to #8 in the Super Region III poll.

2.  U.S. Distict Judge Alan Grimm rules that the NFL can blackout TV home games.

3.  In the Lakers 107-102 loss to the Grizzlies, Kobe Bryant surpassed former Boston Celtic John Havlicek with 13,421 missed field goals. Havlicek set the mark at 13,417.

4.  The Washington Nationals’ Matt Williams named National League Manager of the Year.

5.  Harvard Westlake’s Garrett Robinson has rushed for 1,076 yards and 15 touchdowns.

6.  Legendary sportscaster Al Michaels turns  70 today.

7.  Dirk Nowitzki moved passed Hakeem Olajuwon into ninth place on the NBA’s all-time scoing list with 26,953 points. No international player has scored more than Nowitzki.

8.  On this day in 1995 Dan Marino breaks Fran Tarkenton’s NFL all-time passing recored of 47,003 yards.

9.  Louisville Cardinal head coach Bobby Petrino is set to receive a $500,000 academic bonus for his players maintaining a 935 score on their Academic Progress Rate.
