(Cerritos) – Colony jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 35-7 rout of Los Altos Saturday night to take the Central Division Crown at Cerritos College.

Ryan Kinard broke off a 63-yard touchdown run on the second play of the game to give Colony a 7-0 lead. Six minutes later Kinard capped a 78-yard drive with a seven yard TD waltz and while fans were still entering the parking lot it was 14-0. The Conqueror offense sputtered throughout the first half. After Los Altos was stopped again the Titans drove 57 yards on nine plays. This time Jordan Johnson ran it in from three yards out of the wildcat just before halftime and it was 21-0.

Josh Thompson leads Colony to 35 points and a CIF Title.

Although there were three quarters left to play, you got the feeling that this one was already on ice. Colony’s defense was faster than Los Altos’ offense and the Conquerors had no answer for the Colony offense.

Colony opened it up to 28-0 at halftime and scored once more in the third quarter before calling off the dogs. Colony quarterback Josh Thompson, who was out earlier with a broken collarbone completed 14-19 for 272 yards and two touchdowns.

Both TD passes were to Tommie Dorsey, who got loose for a 50-yard catch and run in the second quarter and caught a four yard bullet in the third for the final Colony touchdown.

***Dorsey caught seven passes for 136 yards and two scores.

***Kinard had just 33 yards after the 63-yard touchdown run and finished with 96 yards on 14 carries.

***Colony only punted once in the game-late in the fourth quarter.

***Los Altos scored on its last possession on a 45-yard pass from Lorenzo Silva to Amir Avery.

***Los Altos drove all the way down to the Colony five yard line to open the second half but after a short loss, Silva was popped and coughed the ball up to put an abrupt end to the drive.

***Avery was the Conquerors’ best offensive weapon with six catches for 115 yards.

***Los Altos’ Tyler Nevens had trouble getting untracked rushing for 77 yards on 18 carries.

***Colony didn’t turn the ball over while the Conqs had one – Silva’s fumble.

***Los Altos punted four times-all in the first half.

*** “We ended up in a lot of second and long situations because of penalties and things. We knew they were fast and the lead just got too big. But I’m proud of these boys. When you look at where we were a few years ago and now we’re in Finals. I’m looking at this as a launching pad.”- Los Altos HC Dale Ziola.

***Colony DB Kahalil Dorsey locked down Los Altos receivers and continually put the Titans in good field position with punt returns.

***Colony finished 12-2 overall while Los Altos ended up at 8-6.
