Mid Valley Girls Softball Top 20

  1. GLENDORA – Tartans are loaded with talent. Dana Waldusky is returning to circle and they return catcher Kelly Nolan.

  2. LA CANADA – Playoff team last season returns eight starters. The circle is full of sophmores with Lauren O’ Leary and Lizzie Miller.

  3. BISHOP AMAT – Title run last season fell one game short. Don’t question their mental toughness as last season showed they can handle pressure.

  4. LA SALLE – Could this be the season they make a run at a title. Catcher Katie Tripoli returns for her senior season and then its on to Sonoma St.

  5. SAN DIMAS – Girls shocked the area last season advancing farther than anyone could have expected. Ariel Shore and Aleena Avalos will provide the pop for Saints.

  6. LOS ALTOS – In a tough Miramonte League, but Conquerors feature pitcher Diana-lynn Patterson who went 21-4 last season with a 0.68 ERA.

  7. TEMPLE CITY – Kelsey Hardwick returns to the mound for the Rams, who lost three of their best players to graduation. Also look out for sophomore Jessica Loiacano.

  8. ARCADIA – Morgan Barchan returns for the Apaches in centerfield, while Samantha Miller is finally healthy and will contribute to the Arcadia offense.

  9. CHARTER OAK – McKenna Gooden will lead the offense. Chargers are putting their pitching hopes on freshman Pinneloopii Hunt.

  10. KEPPEL – Aztecs will lean on hitting sensation Tiffany Rubin, while getting some good pitching from Justine Morin.

  11. SOUTH EL MONTE – Eagles have Reina Garber returning to the circle, along with hitters Jessica Hernandez and Melissa Villanueva.

  12. NORTHVIEW – Chrissy McPhail and Heather Harrison must help the loss of Hannah Fraijo if they want to make a run in the Valle Vista.

  13. SOUTH PASADENA – Tigers will have senior Destinee Quinn start in the circle and still have shortstop Shelby Gogreve.

  14. ROWLAND – The key to the Raiders is whether sophomore pitcher Laura Banuelos can lower her ERA from 2.77 to mid 1’s to be effective.

  15. SIERRA VISTA – Dons shouldn’t have a problem in the Montview again this season, Brittany Flores returns after a 1.42 ERA and 19-1 record.

  16. LA SERNA – Lancers only return four players from their CIF Championship team from last season. Monique Gardea will have to lead at the plate this season.

  17. BONITA – After a tough 2008 season, BearCats return seniors Hannah Carter and Amber Beckman. Junior Chloe Wurst will get the nod at pitcher.

  18. COVINA – No one should count the Colts out after going 20-6 last season. Sophomore Valerie Zavala is only returning player on a very inexperienced team.

  19. WALNUT – Mustangs return both Devyn Craine and Erika Garay as pitchers, while losing Sarah Gonzales. Both returning pitchers need to lower their ERA.

  20. ST. LUCY’S – Regents finished last season 13-12 and no playoff appearance. That team was relatively experienced. Allyssa Dendekker will be the senior leader of a young group of girls.
