1. The Dodgers acquire shortstop Jimmy Rollins from the Phillies for two minor league pitchers, and then send second baseman Dee Gordon, infielder Miguel Rojas and pitcher Dan Haren to Miami for four players led by starting pitcher Andrew Heaney. Heaney is then dealt to the Angels for Howie Kendrick. Matt Kemp is shipped to San Diego for catcher Yasmani Grandal among others.

2. Wisconsin head coach Gary Andersen leaves after two years to take the same position at Oregon State. Andersen replaces Mike Riley who left for Nebraska.

3. The Chicago Cubs sign pitcher Jon Lester to a six-year, $155 million deal.

4. Wisconsin junior running back Melvin Gordon says he will enter the 2015 NFL Draft.

5. Maranatha guard Tyler Dorsey is averaging 26.8 points in his first four games.

6. On this date in 1981 Muhammad Ali loses to Trevor Berbick in his 61st and Final fight.

7. Happy Birthday to former USC/NFL linebacker Willie McGinest who turns 43 today.

8. Kentucky (9-0) remains #1 in the AP College Basketball Poll.

9. The Anaheim Ducks at 18-6-5 (41 points) have the best record in the NHL.
