1.  Super Bowl XLIX is set for February 1, 2015 with the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

2.  The APU Cougar Men’s Basketball team lost only their second game of the season and first conference game 97-91 in overtime to Dixie State in St. George, Utah. PacWest leading scorer Troy Leaf scored 39 in the loss.

3.  The Denver Broncos hire Gary Kubiak as their next head coach.

4.  Max Scherzer agrees to a $210 million contract with the Washington Nationals that includes a $50 million signing bonus and $15 million a year for the next 14 years.

5.  Super Bowl XXV MVP Ottis Anderson turns 58 today.

6.  Walnut  is currently tied for first atop the Hacienda League. The Mustangs are led by Dwight Ramos averaging 21.5 points which is tied for tops in league with JJ Watson of Diamond Ranch.

7.  Fomer UNLV Runnig Rebel, NBA point guard and current CBS analyst Greg Anthony was arrested Friday night in Washington and charged with solicitation.

8.  On this day in 1972 Sandy Koufax and Yogi Berra were elected to the MLB Hall of Fame.

9.  The Anaheim Ducks knocked off the Kings 3-2 in an overtime shootout to take over the NHL points lead.
