1. The Angels’ Josh Hamilton is expected to be out six to eight weeks and will undergo surgery to repair the AC joint in his right shoulder.

2. San Diego Charger center Nick Hardwick, who has anchored the offensive line since his rookie year in 2004, has announced his retirement.

3. Dallas Cowboy running back Joseph Randle has been arrested for the second time in four months, this time for possession of marijuana.

4. Alabama had the number one ranked recruiting class for the fourth straight year. USC was third and UCLA 11th.

5. The Tennessee Titans are set to hire Hall of Famer Dick LeBeau, 77, as their DC.

6. Former Bell Gardens/ La Serna assistant Frank Gallardo.

7. 12 of the 13 players that Azusa Pacific signed are from California.

8. Paramount receiver Donzale Roddie signs with Boise State.

9. Happy Birthday to former Dallas Cowboy/Denver Bronco quarterback Craig Morton who turns 72 today.

10. On this day in 2012 the New York Giants ended New England’s undefeated run with a 21-17 win over the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. Eli Manning is named MVP.
