Baldwin Park HC Daniel Algattas resigns after one year

(Baldwin Park) – In a surprising move, Daniel Algattas has resigned as the head coach at Baldwin Park after just one year. An opportunity came up that Algattas couldn’t refuse.

“I had to take the opportunity to advance my career in higher education at Mt. SAC. I thought it was best for the program if I stepped down, because I would not have had the time to do the job the right way. I love those kids and I know they will be very successful next year,” Algattas said. “It was an 11th hour offer and it all came down Tuesday afternoon. I went home and talked it over with my wife and decided I had to seize the opportunity.”

Last year the Braves  finished 4-1 and in second place in the Montview League in Algattas’ only year. They were 6-5 overall. They fell to San Dimas in the first round of the playoffs.

“I hope the job will allow me to coach again someday.” Algattas added.
