1. Peyton Manning has agreed to a take a $4 million pay cut this year on a new contract with the Denver Broncos.

2. Alex Johnson, who won the batting title for the Angels in 1970, passed away at the age of 72.

3. Diamond Ranch names Jimmy Welker as its new head coach. Welker has had various coaching stints over the last six years. For the last two years he was an assistant at Redondo Union High School.

4. The MLS and its players union avoid a strike by agreeing to a five-year labor deal. The LA Galaxy will host Chicago Friday night at 7:00 pm at StubHub Center.

5. The Dodgers fall to the White Sox 6-4 in the Cactus League opener.

6. The LA KISS opens training camp this Friday March 6 at Santa Ana College.

7. CBS has hired former UCLA head coach and PAC 12 Networks analyst Rick Neuheisel to be a studio analyst on its Saturday college football pre-game show.

8. Dodgers’ 18 year old lefthander Julio Urias.

9. La Salle junior pitcher Vanessa Dwyer strikes out 24 batters in two games as the Lancers pick up wins over Maranatha and Ramona Convent at the Duarte Tournament.

10. UCLA beats USC 85-74 to lock up the number four seed in the PAC 12 Tournament.
