(Portland, OR) – The LA KISS led 23-21 at halftime but were unable to hold on and fell to Portland 42-37 Friday night in the Arena Football League opener.
Donovan “Captain” Morgan caught three touchdown passes from Adrian McPherson including a 15 -yard reception in the third quarter that gave the KISS a 30-28 lead. McPherson, who also hit Thyron Lewis with a TD strike in the fourth quarter threw for 240 yards overall.
Portland’s Kyle Rowley fired five touchdown passes and totaled 209 yards through the air on the night. Jamar Howard caught three touchdown passes and racked up 114 yards on eight receptions.
Next up for the KISS is a trip to San Jose next Saturday to face the Sabercats.
