Castaneda Out at Temple City

Multiple sources have confirmed to Mid Valley Sports that Rob Castaneda is out as head football coach at Temple City High School.

Castaneda was named the 12th head football coach in Rams history last May. He was preceded by : Chuck Piper, Bill Davis, Bob Hitchcock, Don Swanson, Jim Walker, Gabe Soumakian, Mike DiFiori, Mike Mooney, Randy Backus, Anthony White, and Mike McFarland

On that list only White was a one and done. White left TC following the 2009 season to take the job at Buena Park.

The Rams went 1-4 in the Rio Hondo League last year, 3-7 overall, and at times showed flashes of life on offensive. Castaneda took heat from the fan base and on the message boards for a progressive style of offense that featured going for it on fourth down, limited punting, and onside kicking on nearly every kick-off.

Castaneda previously was the HC at Ribet Academy, going 13-17 over three seasons in, including a playoff appearance in 2012.
