1.) Burroughs running back/team captian Michael Ospina signing his letter of intent to attend Earlham College in Indiana to play football. Ospina rushed for 870 yards on 128 carries for the Indians.

3.) Former USC quarterback Vince Evans was the 140th overall player taken in the 1977 NFL Draft (6th round) by the Chicago Bears. In 1979 he started three games, by 1980 he was the full time starter for the club.

5.) The Chicago Bulls fire Tom Thibodeau as HC. Thibodeau went 255-139 in five seasons leading the Bulls.

6.) For Damien/Workman/La Puente HC Scott Morrison turns 51 today.

7.) Texas Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder leads the American League in batting and RBIS: .361 & 38 runs batted in.
