South El Monte’s Ashley Diaz Headed to Arkansas

(South El Monte) – South El Monte’s Ashley Diaz will continue her softball career as she has committed to Arkansas.
Diaz was named the athlete of the year for 2015.
“22 years of softball for me and this is the first player in the whole league to bat over .700 and the first four time MVP of the league in those 22 years,” said South El Monte Coach Dean Bunting.
Diaz hit .561 overall with 10 home runs 42 RBI and 18 extra base hits on the season. The Lady Eagles went 11-0 in the MVL on their way to the league title.
