(San Jose) – The LA KISS shocked previously unbeaten San Jose 48-42 Saturday night in overtime on the Sabercats home field.

After the KISS stopped San Jose on its first OT possession, DeMarco Sampson hauled in a touchdown pass from Danny Southwick to win it. Southwick was playing in place of last week’s starter Adrian McPherson who signed with the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday.

Southwick completed 23 of 45 for 285 yards and five touchdowns, none bigger than the 16-yard strike to Sampson for the game winner.

Rayshaun Kizer, who was last week’s AFL MVP, had another big night for the KISS intercepting two Erik Meyer passes in the fourth quarter, including one for a pick six as Kizer returned it 19 yards to give LA a 35-28 lead.

The KISS, now 2-9 returns home next week to face Philadelphia. San Jose fell to 11-1.
