1. The LA Galaxy signs Mexican national team star Giovani Dos Santos from Spanish club Villarreal through the 2019 season.

2. Point guard Deron Williams signs with the Dallas Mavericks for two years, $10 million.

3. Dez Bryant signs a five-year, $70 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys.

4. Demaryius Thomas signs a five-year, $70 million deal with the Denver Broncos.

5. Becky Hammon, an assistant with the San Antonio Spurs, is the first woman to be the head coach of a summer league team.

6. The San Diego City Council voted 6-3 Tuesday to spend $2.1 million to do an environmental impact report on a possible new Chargers stadium. Mayor Kevin Faulconer and others are hoping this will convince the NFL to tell the Chargers to return to the bargaining table.

7. Norwalk’s first five games on the 2015 schedule: Bell, at St. John Bosco, Bell Gardens, El Toro, at La Mirada.
