2. The father of Houston Texans linebacker Jadeveon Clowney is arrested and charged with attempted murder for a shooting at a bar in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

3. Mike Hessman became the all time minor-league career home run leader with a grand slam for the Toledo Mud Hens Monday night for his 433rd. Hessman, who played his high school ball at Mater Dei, was a 15th round pick of the Atlanta Braves in 1996.

4. Former college football analyst Craig James filed a religious discrimination lawsuit against Fox Sports that contends he was fired because of his opposition to gay marriage.

5. Mexican star Giovani Dos Santos will make his debut for the LA Galaxy Sunday against the Seattle Sounders.

6. Angels’ lefthander C.J. Wilson is expected to miss the rest of the season with an elbow injury.
