(Duarte) – Earl Sanchez has been named the new basketball coach at Duarte the school announced Friday.
Sanchez played at Glendora under the legendary Mike Leduc and led the Tartans to a CIF championship in 1998. He graduated from Northeastern State in Oklahoma where he played and later coached for the Riverhawks.
“He was one of the smartest players and as good a leader as I’ve ever coached, “Leduc said. “What a great hire for Duarte High School and the community at large.”
Last year the Falcons went 12-15 overall under Wade Morris, losing in the first round of the playoffs to La Salle.
