Sarah Beattie returns to the Spartans sidelines.
(La Canada) – A familiar face will be roaming the Girls’ Basketball sidelines for La Canada as former Varsity Assistant Sarah Beattie was named Friday evening. Beattie is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and an alum of La Canada. Played at La Canada under Tamar Hill and was part of her coaching staff during two deep playoff runs in 2012-13 and 2013-14. She spent last season under the tutelage of Spartans Varsity head coach Tom Hoffman. Prior to spending last season with the Boy’s basketball team, Beattie was the Junior Varsity coach at La Canada for three seasons.
“I’m excited to be back at my alma mater,” said Beattie. “This is a talented bunch of girls and can’t wait to start working with them.”
Beattie replaces Jett Del Mundo who resigned after one season. Del Mundo went 19-8 and finished second in the Rio Hondo League to South Pasadena. Del Mundo was able to lead the Spartans to a second round playoff game.
