1. Former New York Giants/Iowa safety Tyler Sash has died at age 27.

2. Cleveland Bowns’ offensive line coach Andy Moeller has been suspended by the team indefinitely for an unspecified incident over the weekend. A woman, who says she is Moeller’s fiance, says Moeller tried to strangle her during an argument.

3. Clayton Kershaw allowed one earned run in seven innings and the Dodgers beat the Angels 6-4 to remain 8 ½ games ahead of the second place San Francisco Giants in the NL West.

4. Serena Williams beats sister Venus 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 to advance to the U.S Open semi finals.

5. The two high school football players in Texas, that are accused of ramming into a referee during a football game, allege that the referee directed racial slurs at them.

6. California at Pomona Friday night, 7:00 p.m.

7. Whittier quarterback Dylan Salcido rushed for 120 yards on 14 carries in Whittier’s 61-0 rout of Cantwell last Friday night.

8. Almont numbers: Montebello has scored 87 points in two games; Keppel has been outscored 79-14 in two games.

9. Happy Birthday to former Dodger Todd Zeile who turns 50 today.

10. On this date in 1965 Dodger lefthander Sandy Koufax fires a perfect game in a 1-0 win over the Chicago Cubs. It’s Koufax’ fourth no-hitter.
