Friday

San Dimas (2-1, 0-0) vs. Bonita (4-0, 0-0) at Citrus College for the Smudgepot.

The Saints haven’t won the annual Smudgepot game since 2012. With the way the Bearcats are playing this year, that won’t change.

Montebello (4-0, 0-0) at Paraclete (1-3, 0-0) at Antelope Valley College

A true test for great teams is can you win on the road against a quality opponent. The Oilers have that test Friday night against the Spirits. Montebello finds a way.

Mt. View (3-1, 0-0) at Rosemead (0-4, 0-0)

Did the Vikings earn enough Mid Valley Karma with chicken tacos this summer? If they win then yes but it will be a tall order against a Panther team aching for their first win.

Sierra Canyon (4-0, 0-0) at Mission Prep (3-0, 0-0)

The Trailblazers will get a road test Friday against Mission Prep. No reason to think they won’t pass that test with flying colors.

Bell Gardens (3-1, 0-0) at Claremont (4-0, 0-0)

The Lancers are stinging from the thrashing they received from Charter Oak. Putting that loss aside to focus on an undefeated Wolfpack team may be too much to ask.

Bassett (2-1, 0-0) at Sierra Vista (2-1, 0-0)

The Olympians and the Dons are neighbors with solid running games and similar records. The difference is Bassett has Marcus Ruiz (578 passing yards and six touchdowns).
