Northwest Division Top Ten: 9/23/2015

By Joe Torosian

Nipomo’s loss was a big surprise, Valley Christian’s win over Mayfair was amazing, and Maranatha being out of the Top Ten is a shock. Several showcase games this week. Last Add on VC: The Crusaders, through four games, have scored 159 points and allowed just 13.

1.) Templeton (4-0, 0-0)—The Eagles are soaring and should fly higher with Cabrillo coming to town this week.

2.) Linfield Christian (4-0, 0-0)—This was expected to be a contest between Northwest contenders, then Top Ten teams, now the Lions come to town ranks second while the Minutemen are walking a lonely road.

3.) Notre Dame/Riverside—(3-0, 0-0)—A week’s rest, refreshed, ready to roll over Jurupa Valley.

4.) Nipomo (2-2, 0-0)—If we didn’t didn’t like the loss to Santa Ynez imagine how the Titan faithful felt? And they get the Atascadero Greyhounds? Farewell and adieu!

5.) Valley Christian (4-0, 0-0)—We said Mayfair would be a test, we didn’t expect them to completely ace it. They were so good they stopped the rain.

6.) Mission Prep (3-0, 0-0)—This has been a great bounce back season for the Royals, but with Sierra Canyon coming to visit…It’s going to be okay being 3-1 heading into October.

7.) 29Palms (3-0, 0-0)—Host Rancho Mirage to see who will control the DeAnza.

8.) Bishop Montgomery (3-1, 0-0)—The Knights held up well against El Segundo now Mary Star will have to cash the check.

9.) Rancho Mirage (3-1, 0-0)—Welcome to the Top Ten Rams…have a real shot against the 29ers this week.

10.) Ontario Christian (3-1, 0-0)—OC is playing good football, but they are playing Valley Christian. The Crusaders have a defense that has been, so far, the unmovable object.
