(Covina) – Eric Williams ran for two touchdowns and caught a pass for a score and Andrew Apodaca ran for one and tossed one in Covina’s 38-0 thrashing of Azusa Thursday night at Covina Valley District Field.

The Colts scored all of their points in the first half and with a running clock in the second they just burned out the time. Williams got things started with a three-yard run in the first quarter and then carried it in from five yards out on the next possession. Apodaca finished the quarter with a five-yard run.

Williams went 57 yards on catch and carry early in the second to make it 28-0. Kevin Hynes hauled one in just before going out of bounds on a perfect throw from Apodaca for a 17-yard touchdown later in the second. Tristan Sprague logged the final points in the scorebook with a 37-yard boot for a field goal late in the first half.

The Colts defense did its part holding Azusa to -23 yards of total offense in the first half.

Azusa HC Joe Scherf was not at the game due to a case of the flu.

Covina improved to 2-2 with the win while Azusa fell to 0-4.
