1. The Kansas City Royals rout Toronto 14-2 to take a 3-1 lead in the ALCS.

2. The Mets beat the Cubs 5-2 to take a 3-0 lead in the NLCS.

3. Ohio State HC Urban Meyer tells reporters J.T. Barrett will start Saturday against Rutgers in place of Cardale Jones.

4. Left-hander Barry Zito announces he is retiring after 15 years in the big leagues. Zito won the Cy Young Award in 2002 with Oakland and spent seven years with the Giants. He was 165-143 overall with an ERA of 4.04.

5. Point guard Marcelo Huertas secures a spot on the Lakers roster. Huertas, 32, has never played in an NBA game and spent the last four seasons with FC Barcelona.

6. “How does St. Francis stay in the Top Ten? If they lost to Cathedral they could not even see the playoffs this year.” – MVS Commenter “Over rated”.

7. Harvard-Westlake running back Thomas Glover is averaging 11.2 yards per carry and has rushed for 448 yards and three touchdowns.
